Prep football star freestyles his college selection

Recently 2014 football recruit out of Paramus New Jersey Jabril Peppers let the world know where he would be attending college. Unlike many recruits who may just inform the coaches at the school or even go through the local media, Peppers was interviewed on ESPNU and showcased another one of his skills, rapping, to reveal the destination to everyone. Peppers, who was ranked the #2 cornerback in the nation according to, was recruited by every major program but his finalist were LSU, Penn State, and Michigan.

What makes Peppers rap announcement so unique is the the fact that not too long ago another high school football player Jay Harris aka “Jay DatBull” a 2013 graduate out of Exton Pennsylvania decided he would not be attending Michigan State University (reports later surfaced that MSU officials pulled the scholarship due to the graphic language of a video done by the young man) to continue his education and his football career in order to pursue his dreams of becoming the next big rapper out of the PA. It seemed as if everyone on the internet had an opinion about it and many felt that he was wrongfully sacrificing his education for his rap dreams when both could be accomplished.

Peppers, who has already set a lofty goal in saying he wants to be better former University of Michigan Heisman winner Charles Woodson, is well aware that while music is a love of his it will be what he does on the gridiron and definitely in the classroom that will open more doors and opportunities later in life. It is quite possible that he still could be a successful rapper down the line, just one with a degree like J. Cole.

Whose CD would you be more apt to support?
